WHIRLPOOL
Founded in 1911 by Louis and Emory Upton, Whirpool is a manufacturer of electric home appliances based in Benton Charter Township, Michigan, USA. They began with producing manual clothes washers fitting with electric motors, a crude version of today’s washing machine, and after a few setbacks, found success in the 1920s.
Today, Whirpool manufactures a wide range of white goods including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers, cookers, and microwaves. The largest manufacturer of such appliances in the world, they market their products under numerous brands including Indesit, Hotpoint, KitchenAid, Admiral, Ariston, and many others.
